Mallorca is a fantastic area to go outdoor climbing for any enthusiast. Beautiful scenery, wonderful weather year round and a wide variety of sports climbs all over the island make it a great place to visit. It's also only a fairly short hop away by air and the island has numerous accommodation coupled with great places to eat and drink after a long days climbing.
The climbing areas are far away from the tourist trap, commercialised world of Palma. Instead you can enjoy the real Spanish island culture. Sa Gubia in particular was one of the most beautiful spots for climbing set in a beautiful gorge with a large variety of climbs.

The first day was spent climbing at Cala Magraner, Sector Pipiricot. This rock face is located in an isolated beautiful bay on the south east coast.
There is approx ½ hr walk-in from the road, but it is well worth it as you are climbing on the waters edge in one of the most picturesque places I have climbed in.
The following day we climbed at the famous Sa Gubia, Sector Pataje Espanol. This is one of the most extensive and varied crags on Mallorca, located just north of the city of Palma, west of Bunyola. The area contains a large number of varied single and multi-pitch routes ranging from the low to the high grades so suits all types of climbers.
La Creveta was the next stop, situated amid some impressive rock scenery on the north eastern tip of the island. This has a wonderful outlook over the bay and Port de Pollença.
The excellent climbing continued at S'estret, an area of easily accessed crags located just to the south of the beautiful village of Valldemossa & west of Sa Gubia.
The penultimate day was at Calvia, hidden away in a tree-infested gorge, a slabby little wall which offers some excellent slab and wall climbing. Our final day was spent on the crags located high above the village of Valldemossa with wonderful views over the village and out to sea. There is no walk-in as the crag is situated directly on the road.
